About
the Radio Studies Network
The Radio Studies Network was founded in
December 1998 by lecturers and researchers to encourage sustained,
lively and critical study and research in radio, and seek
ways to improve its academic and cultural status.
We would like to see radio on the agenda
of a wide range of disciplines including anthropology, cultural
studies, economics, history, media studies, politics, sociology,
and performing arts. Whatever aspect of radio you are interested
in, or whatever discipline governs your approach, you are
welcome to join. We welcome overseas membership of the Network.
The activities of the Network are co-ordinated
by an annually elected steering group.
